Founder and Partner

Mr Bannaga, a prominent Sudanese lawyer, commenced his career in advocacy in 2004. He has amassed substantial experience in commercial law and dispute resolution, predominantly in Sudan, a country that has undergone significant economic transformations over the past two decades, including separation, political upheaval, currency devaluation, inflation, and conflict. This experience has honed Ahmed's ability to strategically plan legal frameworks for businesses, both domestically and internationally, by drawing insights from adverse deal outcomes.


Possessing an LLM in Dispute Resolution from SOAS, University of London, Ahmed has attained the designation of MCIArb (Member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – London) following rigorous assessments and examinations. Additionally, he was appointed as a fellow of the International Lawyers for Africa – ILFA in 2017, and has contributed his expertise at King & Wood Mallesons MEAN in Dubai, UAE, as well as Quadrant Chambers in London, UK. He also trained under the well-known The Commercial Bar Association-London. Moreover, Ahmed imparts knowledge in Arbitration, Banking, and Insurance and teaching at the University of Medical Sciences & Technology.

 

In 2021, in pursuit of expanding competitiveness and client service, the partners concurred to establish a presence outside Sudan, choosing the UAE as the strategic venue. Subsequently, Ahmed assumed a prominent role as a legal advisor for Araa Group Advocates & Legal Consultants, catering to clients in the UAE, Sudan, and globally.

 

Ahmed leads a legal team providing advisory services for local engagements of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and international advisory boards. He has been accredited as an arbitrator at the the Arab Centre for Arbitration and the Sudanese Arbitration and Conciliation Centre.

 

Noteworthy client representations include Omdurman National Bank, Ba'boud Company for Trading, Relief Interantaional, International Medical Corps and numerous other international corporations and orgnasations. Ahmed has also undertaken representation in significant cases against Bank of Khartoum (a subsidiary of Dubai Islamic Bank), The Security & Intelligence Service, Dubai Dry Docks, and North Ladder.

 

Furthermore, Ahmed's professional pursuits encompass cases pertaining to public liberties and constitutional rights. He has submitted constitutional claims and petitions to the constitutional court and other institutions to rectify legal discrepancies with the fundamental tenets of the constitution. Additionally, he has authored newspaper articles addressing shortcomings in court and government practices, as well as those within the Bar.
